Family Coaching and Divorce Coaching

SMC family coaches provide practical, goal oriented guidance to improve  your family dynamics, parenting skills and communication.  Through this process, you and your family can strengthen your relationships, improve communication, and navigate challenges in a healthy and constructive way.

Unlike a therapist, a family coach does not address mental health issues, past traumas or psychological disorders.  Our family relationship coaches do however provide guidance on resolving conflicts, setting boundaries, and developing effective communication strategies. The coaching process focuses on creating a supportive and understanding environment where family members can express their needs, rebuild trust, and enhance their relationships.

This type of coaching is beneficial for couples, parents, siblings, and extended families facing issues such as parenting challenges, blended family dynamics, generational conflicts, or major life transitions.

Divorce coaching is a personalized, goal oriented, process designed to support individuals navigating the emotional, legal and logistical challanges of divorce.  A divorce coach acts as a thinking partner, helping clients:

  • Understand the divorce process – Gain clarity on legal terms, procedures, and available options.
  • Manage emotions – Develop coping strategies to handle stress, grief, and conflict.
  • Communicate effectively – Improve communication with an ex-spouse, attorneys, and co-parents.
  • Organize and prepare – Gather necessary documents, prepare for meetings, and create action plans.
  • Navigate co-parenting – Establish a parenting plan that prioritizes the well-being of the children.
  • Set future goals – Focus on rebuilding, financial planning, and post-divorce life adjustments.
